Homemade Ground Turkey Sausage
I have a confession to make. I don’t eat eggs anymore. I found that they make me bloat so I gave them up! This usually presents a challenge then when it comes to what to eat on Sunday morning Breakfast with the family. Enter the solution: Homemade Turkey Sausages! They are yummy and best made ahead of time so I always double the batch which is what you will find here!
Tupperware needed: Favorite Bowl, measuring spoons, Freezer Mates, Micro Pro Grill or 8″ Fry pan
- 2 lbs ground turkey – 93% lean is my preference
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp ground sage
- 2 tsp ground thyme
- 1/2 tsp rosemary
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Step 1: Combine all the ingredients into a bowl. This is best done a night a head of time at least so all the spices can marry together.
Step 2: Depending on how precise you want to be I take a scale and measure out 2-3 oz patties and put them into the Freezer Mates. Pictured here are 4 of our FreezerMates PLUS Small Shallow set. I like this size because you can fit 4 to a square and they fit nicely in your refrigerator or freezer.
If not cooking right away, or within the next 5 days or so, I would recommend flash freezing them using a Rimed Silicone Mat and then putting them in the Freezer Mates so that they do not stick together.
Two ways you can cook them – either way make sure that there is no pink inside so they are cooked through
Micro Pro Grill: Around 4 minutes per side on the Grill mode. 4 minutes on the first side if not preheated, then 2 on the other. If from Frozen will take a little bit longer
8″ Chef Series Fry Pan: Preheat to medium and cook until no longer pink. Usually around 5-6 minutes.
